Buzet liegt ganz im Norden Istriens, nahe der Grenze zu Slowenien, und ist eine alte mittelalterliche Stadt auf einem Hügel über dem sehr fruchtbaren Tal des größten istrischen Flusses Mirna. Heute ist Buzet vor allem als „Stadt“ bekannt der Trüffel“ wegen der göttlichen Knolle, deren beste „Jagdgründe“ Istriens direkt in den Wäldern entlang des Mirna-Tals liegen.
